Women for Kerry-Edwards Pre-Rally Speech, August 26, 2004
"We’re here today because it is Women’s Equality Day. When you look at all of the accomplishments, the strength and intelligence of Teresa Heinz-Kerry and Elizabeth Edwards, I can confidently say that John Kerry and John Edwards get what this day means. They have chosen strong women as their partners and are standing side by side with all of us in the battle for equality. And after the last four years, the battle is a lot tougher than it was in 2000."

Western Caucus Conference, August 21, 2004
"Are you better off than you were four years ago? Answer it yourselves right here today. Are you better off than you were four years ago?
That’s right the answer is a resounding “no!”
Well, George W. Bush wants you to believe that you’re wrong. He’d like you to think that America is on the right track. How? He says, look at the results. In fact his newest campaign slogan – I think it’s his ninth if that’s any indication – is “results matter.” I think it’s a great slogan and a great suggestion. So, let’s look at the results of four years of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney."

Speech to Federal Employees Union, July 17, 2004
"You have borne more than your fair share of these assaults. President Bush has fought tooth and nail to slash your hard-won benefits, gut federal whistle-blower protections and even eliminate your jobs entirely. He has done this even as he has hypocritically wrapped himself in the American flag and praised your bravery and commitment to our nation. Let me tell you something, you have earned more than his praise. After the past four years, you deserve his apology."

1st Congressional Assembly Speech 2004: Restoring the Soul of America
"Eight years ago, I stood before you for the first time to ask for your nomination as the Democratic candidate for Colorado’s First Congressional District. I sought your support so that I could help carry on the fight begun by Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. and continued by President Bill Clinton for the soul of our nation. Like you and me, they saw an America where everyone had the economic and educational opportunities necessary to build their own American dreams, where every man, woman and child had health care, and where people around the world truly viewed our nation as a beacon of freedom and peace."

Denver Democrats, May 8, 2004
"We are at a critical juncture in our history. There are two paths in front of us – one that leads to continued job loss, continued tax breaks for only the wealthiest among us and a mortgage on our children’s future, the likes of which we’ve never seen. "
