DeGette to Speak at Democratic National Convention
WASHINGTON, DC - Democratic Floor Whip Diana DeGette (D-CO) today announced that she has accepted the request by the Kerry-Edwards Campaign to speak at the Democratic National Convention on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 27, 2004.
"I am thrilled to speak at the Democratic Convention on behalf of the Kerry-Edwards campaign," said Rep. DeGette. "This is a real honor and a unique opportunity to highlight John Kerry's commitment to public service and his plan to make America stronger and more secure. It also shows yet again how seriously the Kerry-Edwards campaign is taking Colorado and the strength of our candidates for the U.S. Senate and the 3 rd, 4 th, 6 th and 7 th Congressional Districts."
On Friday, July 23, Rep. DeGette, the co-chair of the Kerry-Edwards campaign in Colorado, will speak at the kick-off of Senator John Kerry's national pre-convention tour, which will begin at his birthplace in Aurora, Colorado.
